We started with pickleball — the fastest-growing sport in America — because we saw an opportunity to change the face of the game. The courts were growing fast, but they didn't always reflect the communities around them. Blackout was built to change that.
We're dedicated to increasing Black representation in sports communities that have historically lacked it. But this isn't just about one group — it's about building spaces where everyone feels they belong. Whether you've been playing for years or just picked up a paddle, you're welcome here.
And Blackout doesn't stop at pickleball. We're building a multi-sport brand that carries this energy to tennis and beyond. Wherever there's a court, a field, or a game — Blackout will be there.

How It Started
The Blackout Origin Story
Blackout was born from a bold vision: to create vibrant, inclusive spaces across sports. As passionate athletes and community builders, we saw that many sports communities didn't reflect the diversity of the world around them — and we set out to change that.
Starting with pickleball, we built a brand that celebrates Black representation while welcoming everyone to the court. With a growing community of over 5,000 followers and events across the country, Blackout is proving that when you lead with purpose, people show up.
